IDignity Orlando – Event Info

IDignity Orlando has volunteer opportunities on the third Thursday of each month at our monthly Client Services Events which are hosted at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission (410 W Central Blvd, Orlando).

Volunteers are supplied an IDignity t-shirt, a light breakfast and a full lunch. In order to place you in the best volunteer position, the volunteer registration form (see end of page) provides an overview of positions and allows you to indicate preferences for service. For subsequent volunteer registrations, you need only enter your name, email, phone, event date and shift. If you are unable to volunteer but would like to learn more about our ministry, please email info@idignity.org to request a tour.

After you complete the form below, you will receive an automated confirmation email. The week of your selected event a reminder email will be sent along with information about the day of the event, including parking information. IDignity Osceola - Event Info

First Christian Church, Kissimmee, 415 North Main Street, Kissimmee, FL 34744

Registering: All volunteers wanting to serve at an event are required to register online by filling out the form at the bottom of this page. At the event, all volunteers will be provided an assignment, t-shirt, light breakfast, and an ample lunch. The event flyer and map are available here. If you have registered before, then you only need to enter your name, email, phone number, event date and service time-frame. Please also update any info that has changed since you last registered. We will try to place you at your prior assignment, unless you let us know that you would prefer a different assignment. 

Volunteering: Volunteers are asked to be at the event by 7:00 AM and serve until 4:00 PM. Orientation and training are from 7:30 - 9:00 AM. This orientation and training is strongly encouraged for first time volunteers. Veteran volunteers are also asked to attend as their assignments and/or directions may have changed. If you cannot serve the entire day, then specify what time-frame you are available, preferably either 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. 

Arriving: Wear comfortable clothes, you will be provided an IDignity t-shirt. Be prepared to serve outside in the elements, unless unable. Upon arrival proceed to the Check-in table to receive your assignment.

IDignity Seminole - Event Info

IDignity Seminole has volunteer opportunities quarterly at our Client Services Events which are hosted at the Salvation Army (700 W 24th St. Sanford, FL 32771) or St. Stephen Lutheran Church (2140 W State Rd 434, Longwood, FL 32779).

Volunteers are supplied an IDignity t-shirt, a light breakfast and a full lunch. In order to place you in the best volunteer position, the volunteer registration form (see end of page) provides an overview of positions and allows you to indicate preferences for service. For subsequent volunteer registrations, you need only enter your name, email, phone, event date and shift.

IDignity Volusia - Event Info

This orientation and training is strongly encouraged for first time volunteers. Veteran volunteers are also asked to attend as their assignments and/or directions may have changed. If you cannot serve the entire day, then specify what time-frame you are available, preferably either 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM. 

Parking: Ample free parking is available on the paved Church lot.

Arriving: Wear comfortable clothes, you will be provided an IDignity t-shirt. Be prepared to serve outside in the elements, unless unable. The IDignity Event is in the Fellowship Hall. Ask anyone in an IDignity t-shirt where to go for volunteer check-in.

Serve as a volunteer for information booths/tabling events. As these opportunities arise, you will be part of a group emailed to verify your availability. Tabling events occur throughout the week/weekend during both the day and evening.

If you are under the age of 18, a Release Liability for is required. Please download the release form, fill it out, and bring it with you to the event.

Serving Options

How would you like to serve?

  • Position: Standing and walking/driving to external locations in downtown Orlando.
  • Responsibilities: Drive/walk/take the free LYMMO bus to the Orange County Courthouse or other nearby locations to obtain marriage certificates. You will be provided directions and the required payment. As this need arises during events, the Legal team would have your name as a volunteer willing to do this service.
  • Attributes: Flexibile, patient and somewhat organized.
  • Position: Seated inside.
  • Responsibilities: Sign-in volunteers and provide them with their paperwork and t-shirts.
  • Attributes: Welcoming & organized. Volunteer contact only.
  • Position: Standing and walking inside/outside.
  • Responsibilities: Taking photos/videos and directly engaging our clients and volunteers to share their stories.
  • Attributes: Welcoming, happy, engaging and tolerant. 
  • Position: Seated inside with some walking.
  • Responsibilities: Serve breakfast and lunch to volunteers and agents.
  • Attributes: Happy & accommodating. Volunteer contact only.
  • Position: Standing and walking outside.
  • Responsibilities: Welcome clients & answer questions. Fill out Queue cards and paperwork.
  • Attributes: Welcoming & tolerant. Direct contact with clients. Understanding of event.
  • Position: Seated inside.
  • Responsibilities: Ask personal questions to clients and enter data onto various forms.
  • Attributes: Patient & compassionate. Organized with good handwriting & hearing.
  • Position: Standing inside with significant walking.
  • Responsibilities: Escort clients to areas they need to go. Answer procedure questions.
  • Attributes: Encouraging, happy & knowledgeable. Able to explain process and direct clients.
  • Position: Standing primarily inside.
  • Responsibilities: Stand in doorway, permitting qualified clients to pass. Regulating client flow.
  • Attributes: Authoritative & patient. Willing & able to tell clients if they can pass or not.
